Classical

J’Anna
began playing the violin when she was 15 months old. Of course she
didn’t play much at first, but with patient guidance from her
father she mastered the first part of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
by the time she was 18 months old.
She
has studied with some of the finest classical musicians in the world,
graduating with honors from Interlochen Arts Academy, a highly respected
fine arts prepatory school in the U.S. She went on to study with Glenn
Dicterow, concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic and Mark Baranov,
assistant concertmaster of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. She attended
the Vienna Conservatory of Music where she studied, violin, viola
and chamber music and toured with the conservatory orchestra and opera
company.
Upon
graduating from California State University at Chico with her degree
in music performance, she was selected to be a member of a string
quartet formed to take master classes from The Sequoia and Kronos
string quartets. She has attended many chamber music workshops over
the years and finds that this training has enhanced her ability to
work with ensembles in all genres.
